Summary

Rowena's father loses a game of dice to Garth ( The Dark Lord Of Caerleon) so he has to give him one of his sons in service for a year, but when he comes to collect he sees Rowena and takes her instead 

Plot

When Garth comes to collect and takes Rowena instead nobody not even her betrothed who happens to be Her cousin does anything to fight for her ( except her youngest brother who try's but fails ) Garth takes her to his castle where is sister doesn't like her and his friend sort of makes a play for her. Garth knew that the baby his step mom has was not his father's but was the baby of the knight that escaped that night. The knight turned out to be Rowena's father. He took Rowena because he thought that her father killed his stepmom and he wanted revenge. He was going to rap her get her pregnant and than send her back but, then he himself fell in love with her.

My Thoughts

What a bittersweet story this was it was full of pain, mystery, expecially about the past. The three words I would use to discrube this book  would be revenge. Love. forgiveness. Not only was this book very well researched but it was very well written. I really adored this book. You can feel the heat between Garth and Rowena and the darkness is swirling around them. One of the best part of this story were the secondary characters such as Blaine and Marlys
