Summary

As a lark a couple of her friends who were more forward-thinking students decided to experiment and see if they can pass Kathleen of as a lady at a posh party. Plot

The  story started off with not one, but two deceptions Kathleen goes to the posh gathering because of her friends and there she meets Dylan who she thinks is rich. Dylan also thinks she is rich and they both pretend to be something they weren't. They get married when they think they are going to die. The hey fall in love discover each other's duplicity pretend nothing ever happens, but never managed to stay apart.

My Thoughts

This is was based on actual historic event that accured in Chicago in 1871. I found that the first half of the book that had to do with the fire and near death moments were pretty intense. The chemistry between Kathleen and Dylan was romantic.  This was a real page-turner and it kept me on the edge of my seat.
