Summary

Leila is working in the circus as an entertainer for a while now. She is a wear of vampires in the world because of her partner. She is dubbed Frankenstein has become used to it and accepted it that she shortened it to Frankie. One night vampires attack and kidnap her. They force her to use her abilities to connect to Valad instead helping them she she asked for this help, he shows up in flames and smoke rescues her and takes her to his castle in Romaina. She also asked him to help her family and he does he brings them to the castle as well.

Plot

The story was intreasting vampires kidnapped Leila because they wanted to use her abilities for their own gain. They made her use those abilities when they forced her to touch items from Valad's victims   that they had. They wanted to know he would leave his home so they could kill him. Instead of helping them she asked for his help. He comes to the rescue. He takes her to his home in Romaina. Not only for her protection but, also to find out who is trying to kill him.

Hero

Valad Tepesh the Prince of darkness as he is known comes from a long line, of princes who have been slaughtered. He is damaged, complex, delicious, sarcastic,mysterious, damaged, dangerous,ruthless,as well as arrogant, and intimidating. He as earned these character traits because that is the only way he kept is people safe for 500 years. I felt he's this tough no-nonsense man who pretty much scares people yet there is such compassion to him. He doesn't let you see it often but it's there. His abilities are: controlling fire and reading minds

Heroine

I loved Leila  after her accident she became an outcast and her life became dark and dreary full of heart brake and tradgay. She joined the circus and they dubbed her Frankenstein she accepted it with her head held high and made it her own she shortened it to Frankie. In spite of her disfigurement and odd abilities it hasn't prevented her from living a full and fulfilling life oh her choosing. She is sweet, fantastic, and adorable. I liked the fact when it came to Valad she stood up to him and didn't let him bully her around. Her abilities are: Electrical shocks from right had and Glimpe's from left over essences that other people leave behind on things.

My Thoughts 

The romance was awesome their relationship is very unusually, to say the least. Seeing them face off was really entertaining. He's so used to to people fearing him and doing his every demand. Leil will have non of it she demands attention and won't bow to this temper when they are near each other sparks fly he has the sex appeal and strength she craves. When she touches him nothing happens. She can't believe how wounderful it feels to touch someone without hurting them. Leila is totally bestowed. It has been a thousand of years but, finally in Leila he has found someone that touched something in him that he though he had lost ( when his first wife died ) Still, he held back because he has so many demons from his past and enemies who want nothing else but, to destroy him. He can't let himself be distracted by her.

Once Burned ls a hot and electrifying read. The characters along with all the action, intrigue, and romance will sweep you off your feet.
